It seems no matter what I try, the Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3 board with the F16 bios will not boot a Mac drive. Using my old hackintosh, I made a new Maverick backup using CCC, but when installed on the Gigabyte board, it says it cannot read the MBR! Any suggestions?
I updated my @Bios and then proceeded to upgrade my GA-X79-UD3 to bios version F16 (updated because after 6+ months of perfect work, my PC would not recover from Sleep mode forcing me to reset the bios). When it was done my system no longer can boot out of my Samsung SSD drive (10.9.2). I...
I am using a GA-X79-UD3 with an i7-3820 and a GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 650 Ti OC 2GB GDDR5. I followed Tonymacx86 instructions, no DSDT and everything works except HDMI audio. Analog audio works ok, Bluetooth works ok (including audio), USB 3.0 ports work OK. With a Samsung Pro SSD, it boots in...
The solution to my npci=0x3000 was to add it all on the same string, like this.
<string> PCIRootUID=1 npci=0x2000</string>
Now I can boot straight from my drive with no intervention from my part.
Thanks. I read Toleda's guide but it is way over my abilities. For now just using analog out. I also discovered that I can use my little bluetooth USB stick and can get output from my Jambox.
Thanks for the tip. I went ahead and changed my boot.plist to 2000 but that did not bring on the HDMI audio. It seems either npci=0x2000 or npci=0x3000 works fine on my GA-X79-UD3 MB. I have analog audio with either setting so I think I will restore my setting to npci=0x3000.
Again thanks...
Kept playing with it and guess what... this worked!
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">

I tried this but it does not work. If I enter npci=0x3000 manually its ok but if I add it to my boot.plist in Extra folder if crashes. Here is my current boot:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN"...
Thanks for your help.
I have a X79-UD3 with a Gigabyte GEFORCE GTX 650Ti graphics card. I was able to get my pc to boot of Unibeast with the following configuration:
GraphicsEnabler=Yes, PCIRootUID=1 and npci=0x3000
then installed 10.9.2 ok.
After this, I could boot from the USB...
I purchased a MacMini with 10.9.2. I migrated my files from a hackintosh installed PC to the new MacMini and it appears to have installed files which are now preventing the MacMini to boot. In verbose mode it says FakeSMC: unable to obtain OEM information. From there it dies. I tried...
Does anyone know if there is a driver for this board?
Anker® Uspeed PCI-E to USB 3.0 2 Port Express Card, with 1 USB 3.0 20-pin Connector and 5V 4 Pin Male Power Connector
Thanks...
