Resolved Hiss Ok - I found the VoodooHDA panel in sys config. One of the faders (mic, or gain) had to be turned right down, or muted, and the hiss is gone. The audio still plays fine, so it must be turning down the mic or line input, which would definitely have noise. From all the "figuring...

I was a little more focused on the audio at the time, but I had too many kexts for that, so I deleted applehda and voodoohda, and then reinstalled voodoo from Multibeast. Somewhere in there, perhaps even just before, I tried some video modes and it worked. I know that probably doesn't help...

I deleted applehda & voodoohda, and then installed voodoohda .2.7.2 (i think) from Multibeast. I have sound!!! There is a LOT of hiss, unless I mute the output, however. Does anyone know how to take care of the HISS? Would a diff version of voodoo help with this? Everything sounds good...

[SOLVED] Getting 8800GT to work properly in SL Stuck at 800x Tried changing settings again, and this time it worked! I'm not sure what the trick was. Now I just need to get sound to work.

I'm stuck at 800x600, but I found this screen (see file), and SL seems to recognize the 8800GT just fine. If I change to other resolutions, the screen just goes blue. If I hit enter, it will sometimes reset itself back to 8x6 and be fine, but it's a frustating resolution. I've been using...

:wtf: I've installed and re-installed various Kexts and combinations of Kexts from right within Multibeast. I don't know if I've royally messed things up, as I may have installed some of the wrong, or simply too many Kexts for audio enabling. Does Multibeast uninstall old / conflicting Kexts...

Thanks Vendetta! From reading and half-understanding... I installed drivers to the USB drive (had seen somewhere instructions to install the files to USB, and copy to SL), tried copying them to the Snow Leopard install. Now ethernet works, but audio still doesn't. Graphics seem to work OK...
