Figured I'd let you guys know - 10.8.3 is running smooth (clean installation, not updated)!

If You have bought OSX Mountain Lion before in the App-Store but it is not listed in your recent purchases, it looks as if you would have to purchase it again (on the OSX ML product page it will tell you the actual price to buy). In this case don't buy ML again because Apple will actually charge...

btw: I found that VLC player does not output AC3/DTS over HDMI on my Macbook Air whereas XBMC does. Apparently there is some sort of issue with VLC and AC3/DTS passthrough under OSX, even for retail Macs...

Yes, this one is solved. Sorry, had a lot on my mind the last months and didn't update the guide since early September...
In Multibeast > Customization > System Definitions use the latest Mac Pro instead of the iMac 12.2. This will solve the popping audio issue.
With both system definitions...
Even "native" Apple hardware has problems with AC3/DTS playback over SPDIF/HDMI, even with VLC. E.g my 11"-Air does not play AC3/DTS over HDMI using VLC.

Actually I didn't have to do anything on the SPDIF, it just worked out-of-the-box.
What are your issues? SPDIF not working at all or AC3/DTS passthrough not working?
