Try to open facetime (or other app) and then open photobooth at the same time to see what happens.
I opened Facetime and got the same thing, a black image. When I opened photobooth, It started to work on both apps.
Mine is working, but just when it wants lol
for example: when I saw your question, it wasn't working. Then I used kext wizard, rebooted and it came back to life.
(this is just the lamp on the ceiling)
Updated with no problems since Mojave directly from system prefs. I just updated the kexts from Mojave to Catalina with the ones u sent me.
From 10.15 to 10.15.1 no problems.
I'll still have Mojave installed on my first SSD. (Just in case)

Everything seems to work now except bt. I Just copied the files u sent me to /Library/Extensions and used kext wizard to rebuild cache and restore...
I have a fully functional Mojave installed on my elitebook 8470p.
Is it possible to clone this SSD to another one?
The reason: I'm thinking about updating to Catalina directly from system prefs but I prefer to test it on a clone before updating the original system.
