Well, I reinstalled Mavericks over the previous installation, and then I reinstalled the full suite of ProBook installer, making certain to tick the Atheros option. No hardware installed.
I installed just the Atheros via the ProBook installer. Success!
I appreciate the time you took with...
Thank you!
I started reinstalling Mavericks. I did not intent to install the Broadcom WiFi drivers, and I did (or at least tried to) install the Atheros drivers, more than once via the ProBook installer afterwards. DSDT Generator > Optional Patches > Atheros 9285 Patch.
I could trouble you...
I only messed with the following files, but I did make copies of the originals:
Apple80211Monitor.bundle
IO80211Family.kext
I tried to restore the originals, but I will reinstall to be on the safe side.
Again, thank you.
Thank you for your response.
Removed the RealtekRTL81xx.kext.

RehabMan,
Again, thank you for your work and precise installation instructions.
May I ask two (hopefully) quick questions about my 4530s?
First, if I am going from 10.7.5 to 10.9, are there any additional steps that might be prudent? I have ProBook Installer v6.1.2 (the last version...

First off, I want to thank all of the major players in creating the HP Installer 6.1 as well as all of the testers. It worked well for both of our ProBooks. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
My gut reaction is that perhaps testing the inaugural edition (i.e., 10.7.0) for Lion...
