OK - so I'm gonna be "that guy" who replies first to his own thread:
SUCCESS!! There are no guides on this because it is RIDICULOUSLY EASY TO DO. Some of these steps may not apply to you, since I have a very unique machine with both 4K and VR (I do game development in Unity in my spare time)...
I'm about to take the plunge into using my old 970 as a second card in my machine for OSX.
Got the 1070 for gaming and a little VR fun - but all my music apps live on my Hack (Logic FTW!), and I can't wait anymore on Pascal support.
I have a 4K monitor, but IGFX are HD4600 - no DP, so nothing...
Crap. Just tested this, and my boot screen does come up on the Vive (if I'm quick enough to hit F2 before Clover loads). So much for an easy fix!
My build is based on a Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5. The only selection I have is to use IGFX or PCIe - nothing more specific, so I'm assuming at this...

Like many of us, I have a "new gadget" addiction - which led me to buy an HTC Vive for VR. Love it, and everything runs perfectly under OSX...
I finally got to build my dream machine - I have a perfectly working Chameleon Installation (Unibeast / Multibeast method) of Yosemite.
But...Clover seems to be the way to go - especially to fix iMessage / FaceTime. So I try it...
Followed Tony's guide to make the switch (from step 4), used...
