Is there a reason that multi beast simply doesn't state why it failed? e.g. instead of saying "the installation failed," why not say "the installation failed because the backup folder ___ already exists at /Users/<username>/Desktop?<folder name>" ?
Honestly, I think that was your only route if you didn't have another Mac around.
I've had the same problem in the past and was able to fix it by booting off of iBoot. But iBoot couldn't load the OS this past time, and the only way around that is to run multibeast from another Mac or reinstall...
I have seen that other people on the forums have this card. Has anyone tried doing tripple monitors with 2 of these cards?
This card is also hard to find. I'm debating using a USB to DVI adapter for the third monitor. Has anyone had success using one a USB to DVI adapter?
I was able to fix this by connecting my hard drive to my macbook via a SATA to USB adapter, and installing multibeast again. Apparently the NVIDIA driver overwrites the IOPCI fix included in multibeast 3.8.0. Reinstalling multibeast onto the drive when it was attached to another computer fixed...

I installed the official NVIDIA drivers for my Gigabyte 9800 GT graphics card on a working 10.6.8.
Now, the system won't boot. When I boot with the -v flag, I see some of the following text:
