I'm slightly concerned that mine worked fine after installing the update...
I downloaded the executable version of the update, installed and then attempted to install the nvidia drivers again, but it complained that it was already installed. Multibeast before restarting and working just as...
Wonder what the "Hot Plug" option in the UEFI settings does. It might save that position even if there is no SATA HDD attached? (so you always boot from hot-swap drive if possible - seems logical to me). If that was the case you would just need to make a switch to cut the power from a HDD. Do...
Wonder how UEFI deals with 2 identical USB drives. Could still work if one or the other was connected? Then could just make a switch to select which one gets power? Depends how it identifies the drive I guess...
Latest thoughts are either that or like you said hacking together 2 sd card...
Had my first freeze (only temporary) whilst using safari. Got loads of garbage graphics in safari but nothing else. Looking in console after it showed a channel exception.
Anyone managed to get this crash when NOT using safari? I have only ever seen graphical problems in that program :S
I was slightly confused about which kexts to move with kextbeast so ended up changing my system ID to Mac Pro.
Seems fine so far :D Downloading Portal 2 to see if I can run it fairly smoothy!
Also quite curious to hear exactly what others are seeing. I have experienced:
Graphics freeze (where pointer still moves) after screen goes to sleep, but not every time. I have also experienced this a couple of times with manual computer sleeps (full sleep), but took me 5 attempts to...
UEFI bios is up for my board so now running that.
Took a while because I decided not to delete the DSDT (opting to just disable it on first boot) but didn't realise DSDT=null was case sensitive xD
Will see if I get the same issues still
Other boards have UEFI in the BIOS section of the downloads. Guess they haven't released all of them yet... I'm in the same boat with my GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 :(
Thought I had subscribed to this thread with email updates! I just had the same idea today! I was thinking of taking it one step further and making a physical switch for the USB drive and hiding the thing in the case or something. Or mod a USB stick to be on a long cable with a switch to turn it...
From my experience with my 560Ti like you say the problem is the display (or all of the display except the mouse) is freezing. When my system "froze" it was halfway through an app installation, but after a reboot it was completely installed! I turned off computer sleep but I was still getting...
Try running:
sudo kextcache -system-caches
sudo kextcache -update-volume /
and see what pops up as causing an issue. Delete the offending kexts and then try multibeast :)
