Sorry the link did not help with your problem, I found one of the solutions worked for me when I had 10.6.8 running (long and boring story). I am surprised that you cannot use the app store with 10.6.3 it worked for me and still does with 10.6.7, hopefully someone with more knowledge will assist.

Many thanks to Lupeto for this thread, I have built my first pc from scratch and now have Snow Leopard running without problems. Had some difficulties due to steep learning curve but resolved by much reading here, I now need a book on how to convert from windows to Mac OSX
