    X299 Big Sur Support

Just checking back in from a long absence. Interestingly I tried to set up the first GitHub for the Mojave live the future thread and KGP flamed me hard with a few others about stealing work...... :D Glad reason has been seen and we've moved on..! Just updated my Asus Prime Deluxe with a...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Thanks, but maybe I worded my question pretty badly there, it was a question more about using the power play tables to keep the fan profile and lose the overclock. It’s academic anyway as that wasn’t the problem in the end but thanks anyway.

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

@apfelnico - is it possible to have a version of your Vega 64 SSDT without the overclock shown in the tutorial? I know it’s in the power play tables bit but I’m not sure how to edit it back to the stock version. The fan profile is perfect but I’m processing some bits which send my gpu temps...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

As I mentioned, looks like you’ve deviated from section D of the guide. Your system won’t boot from that no entry sign at the mo so no point waiting. I’d suggest going back and making sure you did everything in section D. I’m off to bed but someone else might want to jump in if you get any...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Ok, you've changed your signature and equipment details in your profile. That helps. Occasionally it takes a **REALLY** long time at the apple boot logo. And multiple resets. Sometimes you have to go with it. I'd assume you waited so then you need to check your boot medium to see if its the...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

@taskforce21 - This thread specialises in the x299 chipset and related issues. might be more appropriate to head somewhere more suited to the z370 like the link below as they deal with your chipset...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

No worries! The Vega SSDT part implemented on the tutorial doesn't work, it kills the SSDT implementation. This is a copy paste from the SSDT which apfelnico provided which does work. Hope that helps! :)

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

@kgp - you misunderstand my intention. I also am not interested in any kind of revolution. However, the tutorial was flawed, I was supplied a solution and wanted to make it available to others in a way that was easy to access. It was a breakdown into a few different SSDT's to make the inclusion...

I agree, a more modular approach makes sense, and its easier to maintain to that end I've opened a GitHub repository for this purpose. Anyone free to do a PR there or just tag me here on something you want uploading there. I've arranged it thus. Mainboard - will contain minimal MOBO specific...

PERFECT! Thanks a bunch. Display port sound and pretty quiet fans. Did you fiddle with anything else like clock speed or is it pretty vanilla in the power tables? Might be worth adding to the original tutorial files @kgp?

@apfelnico Don't suppose you have any thoughts on the AMD Vega SSDT section of the tutorial under the Nvidia stuff? I've used it as a copy and paste in 10.13.5 but as soon as I add it it my about this Mac PCI goes from having all the bits in to just having the GFX card and Audio Device that...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

So. Still stuck with the Vega 64 SSDT part from the Tutorial. My card is in slot 1. I've confirmed that my SSDT works fine by first doing the Audio 1st Step from the SSDT. This shows up in the PCI browser in System Report fine. When I add the Vega 64 blocks it no longer comes up. I'm guessing...

I'll look, its from the code blocks under: Below one finds an example of @apfelnico for a GFX and HDAU PCI implementation of 1x Radeon Vega 64 in PCIe Slot 1:

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I've implemented the new SSDT and am editing it to reflect my Vega 64 Setup. When adding the suggested code I get an Object Does Not Exist (GPRW) error. I've commented it out for the moment but if anyone knows if its vital or not that would be brill.... :) Method (_PRW, 0, NotSerialized) //...
