I'm also able to get scaling working great on a Dell UP2414Q driven by a Gigabyte GTX760 via DisplayPort, but no dice on 60Hz. I've use MacPro3,1 system definition, have tried MacPro6,1 and MacBookPro8,1 with no dice.

Try disabling 'Wake on LAN' in the bios. That was giving a few people problems on similar boards. Making them wake up and restart instead of shutdown and the like.

From what I understand, very few of the Z77 motherboards support dual-link DVI from the internal graphics (except I think the MSI boards), but that DisplayPort resolutions can go up to 2560x1600. Another option is to get a cheap $50 graphics card.
