macOS Big Sur Does NOT Boot with iMac14,2 System Definition

If you have the time, tell us the parts in your build. And if you can boot on 17,1 - run your config through OpenCore Configurators config checker. And of course, not to be insulting but double check you've no kext updates with Hackintool or something

What does your kext folder look like my dude, and have you ran your config through OpenCore to check for errors?

macOS Big Sur Does NOT Boot with iMac14,2 System Definition

I’d have a look over you SSDT’s, compile them yourself. Works very cleanly in OpenCore 0.6.0

macOS Big Sur Does NOT Boot with iMac14,2 System Definition

Updated through the native Software Update. Took about 45 minutes but no issues. I made sure to update all kexts & Opencore.

macOS Big Sur Does NOT Boot with iMac14,2 System Definition

I’ve been using 18,3 on Catalina. 200 Series, Kabylake user here. Switching to OpenCore significantly improved stability. About to try the Big Sur update. Will keep you posted.

That's great to hear, thanks for getting back to us.

"Fatal error occurred" kernel panic; NVME?

Download Hackintool and click this option. Still recommend a vanilla install though, see it through until you can boot

"Fatal error occurred" kernel panic; NVME?

Thanks for reiterating this. I’d like to re-suggest a clean install, don’t touch SLE or LE (don’t install kexts with Kextbeast, Hackintool etc) and put all your user additions in Other

"Fatal error occurred" kernel panic; NVME?

Too big? A kext? Can you send me your SLE/LE and EFI please. I think my messages works now

"Fatal error occurred" kernel panic; NVME?

They way it works is, everything that’s in SLE will boot with the system regardless. Provided you’ve set kext injection to ‘detect’ in clover, it won’t override anything that’s already loaded onto the system. It will skip. However, as previously mentioned. It’s best to but all USER kexts in...

"Fatal error occurred" kernel panic; NVME?

As pointed out on the Catalina workarounds pinned thread: Your L/E should be pretty much what you get after stock. I've attached a picture of mine. Inject user kexts on boot using clover. Can you please have a look at that thread to ensure you've tried other troubleshooting steps for...

"Fatal error occurred" kernel panic; NVME?

I'd really advise you put user kexts into 'EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other', this is currently the standard for Catalina EDIT: In fact, that pretty much made my system functional again. It's the little things.

Yup yup, I'd scour the forum to see people facing issues with their 5700 XT on this edition of macOS

"Fatal error occurred" kernel panic; NVME?

Nah, set it in BIOS. Make sure your doing display out from your motherboard

"Fatal error occurred" kernel panic; NVME?

Boot without the graphics card. Just iGPU in your bios, I wanna see if you’re still getting crashes.
