Hi, Try at boot,in the options Pci System , to flag the 2 options usb (one sound like "inject" and the other one). Then, add nv_disable=1 in the boot parameters. If you are using the osx 10.11.6 I think that U will have many problems with your 970. Read my last post, I've your problem too...
