Yeah... I was looking to the Asus server mobo/E3-1245 route, but it was easier to get the GA-Q67 motherboard.
I have been working over XP SP2 for the last 4 years with no problems (offline daw, no Internet...). The next step will be W7 and PT HD9.
Sorry, but no OSX on my agenda... I know this is...
Building a GA-Q67M-D2H-B3/i7 2600 next week... RAM will arrive on monday (everything else is here).
No Hackintosh.... just a Windows XP/Protools 7.4 HD2/(hopefully) Sandybridge build.
Next update will be W7/PT HD9...
I will be back in a few days with some results.
A bit offtopic and maybe not the right place :beachball: ... but I need to know, do the c20x server mobos work with XP?
It´s one of the questions I have on my mind during this time on the way to the 1155-Protools HD build.... we will get it!!!
Thx
Yeah, that´s the point... if you already have the HD cards, why not getting (hopefully) a really powerful and hybrid HD/Native system. You will have the best of both worlds...
Yeah....I can confirm that.
E3-1245 is listed just a bit lower at the benchmarks cpu charts than the 2600k... same price and a huuuge step in terms of perfomance than my 4 years old CoreDuo.
Trying to figure out: Asus P8B-C (E3-1245) or Q67 (i7 2600k)...
I know....the world is full of different colors, shapes...
I meant, to sum up on my specific case (pricewise/perfomance, HD2...). Look:

The last thing I am thinking is buying an i/O 96.... lots of variables before.
Thx anyway
