Tbh, it doesn't bother me too much as long as it doesn't cause any issues. I'm just a little puzzled that I seem to be the only person that's experienced it.
That's one of the first driver installs I do as part of the windows installation. I honestly don't think it's anything to do with the chipset or other hardware drivers. I think it's something in the SSDT's or Kexts that are loaded when I boot through the opencore picker that are presenting to...
I figured as much, especially as I can boot straight into Windows if it’s an issue. I’m curious to know if anyone else has this or if it’s just me though?
Thanks for the suggestion, but the BT and Wifi modules are also present in the device manager with their own drivers installed. This device shows in addition to them and no amount of cold booting will get rid of it.
Edit: Just noticed that if I use F12 and boot straight into Windows, bypassing...
One small issue remains. This unknown device in Windows. I can do a clean install of Windows and install all of the drivers to the point where nothing is unaccounted for in the device manager. If I boot into MacOS and let the system sleep then the next time I boot into widows this device shows...
So, quick update.
The Fenvi BT/Wifi card arrived today. Sleep worked as soon as I installed it. Have now done a fresh install, starting from scratch with an iMAC 20,2 SMBIOS and then upgraded to Big Sur. All appears to be working ok now, happy days! There was a funny issue to start with where...
Thanks for the suggestions Bider. I've now tried your suggestions and alas it didn't work.
I've ordered Fenvi card which should be here on Monday, we'll see if that makes any difference.
One other questions has occurre to me. I haven't connected power to the optional additional pcie power...
I have tried something along those lines. The original OC package that CaseySJ provided has two versions of the SSDT-UIAC file. The V1 observes the 15 port limit and doesn't use patch to extend the limit. I've tried deselecting the patch and using the V1 file as well as the V2 file in...
Sure, so far the only way I have been able to get the system to sleep is by unplugging the usb header cable for the bluetooth module. I'm assuming that this means that the Broadcom BT module is the offending device. Having followed Canyondust's suggestion and checking that the USB port types are...
Just out of interest I also tried using V1 of the SSDT and disabling XCHIPortlimit quirk to see if this made any difference in resolving the sleep issue. It didn't.
So I think CaseySJ's build uses the SSDT injection route. I've had a look at SSDT-UIAC-Vision-D-V2.aml using MaciASL and alas the HS11 ports (the internal USB header on the vision D) already has the value 0xff for the USBConnector variable. Thanks for the suggestion though.
