I disconnected all hard drives beside the one with windows 7 and started my machine. It solved the problem for me. After a successful boot in windows i turned off and connected everything again. Chanced my boot order to my OS X drive in BIOS and everything was back to...
I think the extra VGA display really is the Displayport that has suddenly been activated by the new drivers in Lion. I do not have anything to connect to it to verify this. My 5850 card has 1 DVI, 1 Displayport and 1 HDMI.
Probably something to do with some plists or something, but I don't have...

A bet you have a Radeon 5000 series chip. (5X50, 5X70 etc.) You get 2 monitors even if only one is connected. Disconnect monitor and plug it in again. If that does not work reboot without monitor connected, then connect it. Maybe two...
I found it out when trying to connect with Screen sharing from my MBP. Suddenly had 2 monitors... Luckily I had Screen sharing activated in 10.6.8.
Maybe a reboot without your monitor connected might work. Plug it in after bootup.
Besides that I have no idea.

The code worked for me to. No BIOS reset anymore. Only difference from my SL setup is that I have to press mye keyboard or mouse a couple of times after the first click when I wake it up. If I dont it just falls asleep again.

Same problem here. Machine also crash at shutdown sometimes. Also problems with spinning up disks from sleep. Takes some minutes before it spins up. Suddenly everything is up and running normally.
