Never mind my last post. Seems that 10.7.2 installed the bundle I deleted. However! I still only have a white screen and nothing else with my 6970 card. Getting really frustrated here. 10.7.2 did NOT add native 6970 support :( :( :( :( Any help is appreciated...

Okay, so installed the 10.7.2 update. Only problem: I deleted my ATIRadeonX3000VADriver.Bundle file in a previous attempt to get my card to work. Where can I locate that file on my Lion DMG? Any help would be appreciated.

I have tried this but unfortunately I am able to put my computer into sleep mode but unable to wake it afterwards, I have to do a cold boot.

I ended up with installing an old Matrox graphics adaptor. This way I could upgrade to 10.6.8. After that I upgraded to 10.7 but the 6970 is still not supported. Some say that 10.7.2 will support the 6970 card. I am waiting for this update and will of course report back with my experiences.

Aww snap! Thanks for taking the time to answer this post. I do bellive that I have seen people with working HD 6950 and 6970 cards? Just no Acceleration, but still they have a picture and I do not :( Guess I will have to wait to 10.7.2 Any ideas when that will hit?
