I had the same issue with 10.14.4 -> 10.14.5; try in Terminal the following command: sudo kextcache -i / and reboot.

Mine shipped with the latest 3.0.7 firmware installed and, in fact, had no issues!

If you used MultiBeast 11.2.1 (Clover r4920 and up-to-date Kexts) then there should be no problem at all. Unless you have a custom SSDT, USB patch has changed and needs to be re-applied. Of course, make a backup copy first, that's a necessary precaution to be taken. K.

Just for sharing purpose, I also had installation procedure issues (10.14.4), like 4 reboots instead of just 2 with an ADATA NVMe SSD. But after that, system is stable and I'm about to try and update to 10.14.5.
