Re: If intel new X79 support lion? Hexa has not confirmed if speedstep or sleep work. Mine works fine apart from those 2 things. Usb3 works but only at usb2 speed. It might be fixed soon.

Re: If intel new X79 support lion? To fix the unknown cpu just add this to your "smbios.plist" it works with all bootloaders. <key>SMcputype</key> <string>1281</string> To fix the unknown AHCI controller on a Asus X79 Pro install the AppleAHCIPort.kext I've edited. It might work on some...

Re: If intel new X79 support lion? All X79 boards and CPU's are not supported by OSX yet. this is why the CPU is shown as unknown and why speedstep and turboboost do not work and its the same in 10.8. Set a fixed CPU multiplier. In your bios press F5 for default settings. Reboot. Then change...

Re: If intel new X79 support lion? hnak's Appleintel E1000e is only slow if you leave it on auto. Goto "system preferences/network/advanced/hardware" turn configuration to manually, speed to 1000baseT, duplex to full-duplex and leave mtu as it is. Then you will have full performance. For all...

Re: If intel new X79 support lion? You've made it! Unfortunately sleep doesn't work yet but hopefully soon. The next thing is that speedstep doesn't work either. Turn it off and turbo mode and set a fixed CPU clock Multiplier. You will notice the power difference. If I fix mine to 39 I get...

Re: If intel new X79 support lion? After many trials I found this way to install Lion on a Asus X79 Pro board using unibeast the best. Have the lastest version of Multibeast on a USB Drive. The drive you want to install onto should be on the second Sata 3 port. Shows up as P2 in bios or P1...

Re: If intel new X79 support lion? Great! Watch out for boot loader problems posted a few pages back. You can use version 1.7 or even 2.0. Easy beast works also. But no PCIRootUID=1 and no 64bit options. It works out of the box at 64bit. @work. Please report your results. Have fun!

Re: If intel new X79 support lion? Get a Lion pen drive. Did you try rebooting with PCIRootUID=1. I have the version 10.6.6 disk I think. I think I could install without the PCIRootUID=1 option.

Re: If intel new X79 support lion? Did you use multibeast or didn't you get that far? If yes which version? Which version of osx are you using? Change you fan setup in your bios. I don't believe the problem is caused by your gfx.
