<< Solved >> OpenCore battery patch

Appreciate all your work in trying to get this resolved. BTW, would post #2 in this thread be a good place for me to start trying to figure this out on my own? https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-using-clover-to-hotpatch-acpi.200137/

Attaching new files. I have been copying your entire EFI folder with the exception of the bootx64.efi and opencore.efi. I'm replacing those with the debug versions to capture log output.

I got the same behavior as before. I was thinking maybe trying a different approach. Instead of trying to create an SSDT patch from the patched DSDT...would it be easier just to keep the patched DSDT (for battery) and also patch the same DSDT for the other renames I have in ACPI - Patch in my...

Looks like similar behavior from the last time. Gets to the apple logo with empty bar. Attaching files...

Absolutely no rush on this. This laptop is still very usable when I just use the patched DSDT. Just doesn't sleep (keeps waking up right away) but not a big deal because its almost always plugged in. I appreciate all your help!

Got a little further this time, but hung at the apple logo with empty bar. Just to confirm...the only file you changed this time around was config.plist? Attaching oc log and screenshots (hope they are readable...things were scrolling pretty fast).

No worries at all and appreciate the update. I think we are on much different time zones btw. It’s midnight where I’m at. Get some rest and take all the time you need. You’re doing me a favor so definitely no obligation on your part. Thanks!

Ok...boot basically went into a repeat loop with this screen over and over again (attached as zip because this forum, for some reason, says it's not an image). Also attaching my oc debug log as well.

Thank you so much for doing this. I took a look at the changes and they are very extensive. Did you have to hand code everything or is there a method to generate a lot of the code? I also noticed that SSDT-EC is removed from the new files. Was there a problem with the existing one or did you...

This might be a pretty big ask...but what does it take to be able to do this on your own? What kind of technical background would be recommended and what resources are available online, if any?

<< Solved >> OpenCore battery patch

Attached. One note...I'm using a patched DSDT with a couple more patches than the battery patch so you'll notice the DSDT.aml in the EFI.zip is different than the DSDT_bat.aml I posted earlier. I'm just trying out a few more things right now for troubleshooting, but they don't appear to make...

@BlvckBytes On a side note...I found this thread because of this thread where someone mentioned that your help in getting them an SSDT file for their battery helped fix their issue with the fans running all the time in sleep mode (which is an issue I've been trying to fix as well).

Yes...DSDT.aml is native, DSDT_bat.aml is the patched one. Here is the link to the patch I used. https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch/blob/master/battery/battery_ASUS-G75vw.txt Thank you!

<< Solved >> OpenCore battery patch

I've been reading this thread and I'm also trying to get my battery working 100% with OC. I have tried ACPIBatteryManager and SMCBatteryManager and they both seem to work the same. The end result is, with a patched DSDT (using RehabMan's patch for Asus laptops), my battery works fine in all...
