I finally took the plunge and got off Sierra and onto Mojave. I got tired of holding out that Nvidia was going to be supported again and went out and purchased a XFX - AMD Radeon RX 580 GTS Black Edition 8GB (RX-580P8DBDR) from my local Best Buy. Was too lazy to wait for Amazon.

After digging through my notes, I remembered to add the -f parameter at boot along with the usual process of disabling my nVidia web driver. The -f allowed me to login and update my drivers.
I actually just rebooted from doing that. Turns out there was a problem with my boot volume that needed repair. Once the repair was done i was able to boot in normally and update the drivers. I just posted to soon. However, all keep that under your hat that you might have a damaged boot volume...
I am now stuck in a login loop after updating from 10.12.3 to 10.12.4. I performed the following when upgrading...
1. Updated to the latest version of Clover.
2. Restarted
3. Ran the combo update of 10.12.4
4. On startup disabled the Nvidia web driver in clover startup options.
