    El Capitan 10.11.3 - Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7 - 6700K SkyLake - Titan X - 64GB RAM - SSD

I just realized that the EFI that is supposed to be mounted at the end of this guide is the main drive EFI and not the one that is on the USB stick. :banghead: Now I have to figure out my USB issues. I have four at the front of the case, two are USB 2.0, two are USB 3.0 and none are working...

    10.11.0-10.11.3 Skylake Starter Guide

So it appears that I've figured it out. For those that are about as challenged as I am with regards to hackintoshes the EFI that is supposed to be mounted is the SYSTEM level EFI on the main drive, not the one that is on the USB drive. :banghead::crazy::headbang:

    10.11.0-10.11.3 Skylake Starter Guide

Here is my problem. I know I'm missing something painfully, stupidly easy, but I can't figure it out. I'm using the Gigabyte z170x Gaming 7 with no add in cards,6700K and 16gb DDR4 ram. I followed this guide to the letter...

Hey guys, I could really use some help here. My fears have been realized. Here is the breakdown. I have this same board but I'm not using a graphics card, just HD530 for now. I got to the install, followed the directions to the letter. Mounted my EFI partition from my USB drive, made the...

    El Capitan 10.11.3 - Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7 - 6700K SkyLake - Titan X - 64GB RAM - SSD

My question was answered in the installation forum. Now I have a problem. In multi-beast, the instructions from this thread state to go with: 1. Quick Start- UEFI Bod Mode 2. Build - Install When I do this the system definition shows up as Mac Pro 3,1 but the "About this Mac" says my current...

UniBeast: Install OS X El Capitan on Any Supported Intel-based PC

Stupid question, but this has not been pointed out. Once the second boot is complete, from the USB partition but to the hard drive option, where is the Multi-beast part of this setup done? Meaning, do I just run it from within the USB drive or do I drag it onto the desktop and run it from the...

    El Capitan 10.11.3 - Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7 - 6700K SkyLake - Titan X - 64GB RAM - SSD

I have a question about my install. I'm using the same board but I'm not using any discrete graphics. I wanted to get it up and running with HD 530 before I take on any add in cards. Regardless, I'm to the point where OS X 10.11.4 is installed and I just rebooted from the USB partition per the...

[Solved] Get "prohibited" Sign When Trying to Install

10.11.0-10.11.3 Skylake Starter Guide Ok, update. Oddly enough I switched USB ports from a 2.0 slot to a 3.0 slot on the back of the case and everything progressed into the installer and now I've got El Capitan running! Now I have to get the network and sound setup and tweak the video and I...

[Solved] Get "prohibited" Sign When Trying to Install

First post. Yay! Can't get to the installer. Booooo! I'm super new to this, it took me an hour to figure out how to get into verbose mode:( I have systematically gone through the bios requirements on my GA z170x Gaming 7 board with 6700K cpu. No add-in cards are used and video is HD530. I get...
