@Qres, thanks! I've played around with better defining the Alpine Ridge controller PCI address and have been having some success! No crashes so far today...
Awesome! I'm using OpenCore-- discovered that disabling WhateverGreen seemed to have fixed the crash on wake. However, I notice after a long sleep that I now get lagging or crashing in apps that use the GPU. Any fix for this? Known issue?
Has anyone explored stability of the new TB3 SSDTs w/ OpenCore related to WhateverGreen? Still trying for native TB3, but having AMD GPU (5700 XT) crashes after waking from sleep.
I have Thunderbolt information populating in 10.15.5. Have you tried doing a cold boot (unplug the power for 2 minutes)?
That being said, I get a panic caused by an AMD GPU driver crash upon wake with these SSDTs, so I'm not using them for now.
@mango1122, do you have any issues with crashes related to AMD GPUs with these TB3 SSDTs? Mine are sporadic. Some times there is no problem with wake from sleep, other times there are problems. Also seeing some variability with the attached TB device connecting properly after sleep-wake...
@Qres, I've also noticed some GPU related kernel panics after adding these TB SSDTs, particuarly upon wake from sleep. Crashes don't always occur.
Another thing I've noticed is that with these TB SSDTs I'm getting an ACPI error (and panic) upon booting into Windows with OpenCore 0.5.8. No...
I've noticed another issue with this SSDT. If I try to boot into Windows from OpenCore with this SSDT enabled I receive an ACPI error. If I boot into Windows from the Windows 10 boot loader there's no issue.
Has anyone else seen this issue? I'm using an older version of OpenCore.
Also wanted to share my experiences with the SSDTs @mango1122 provided
First, updated to BIOS 4.40C and enabled Force Power.
I initially tried SSDT-TbtOnPch_PINI.aml, DTGP.aml, and E2C to XE2C patch on NVM 14. It worked with proper display in system information!!! However, upon sleeping the...
Got it! I'm using an TB NVMe SSD enclosure as the attached device to get this running.
Tried those settings with no luck-- one thing I noticed is the tool doesn't seem to recognize the controller FW or update FW version? Does it recognize these before you try to update?
