Two things I found using the official wiki for clover's config.plist that were very counterintuitive (or my system is not following the rules of this multiverse). -MLB and ROM values may be deprecated, but this method works and you need to take any spaces out of the ROM string value...

Thanks for push over to Clover, I had tried previously and been frustrated but this was absolutely fix...MLB/ROM/IOPlatformUUID consistent (and easily configurable) through reboots. (now to tackle audio)

also confirming fix!! -I had already reinstalled on a second hard drive -removing npci=3000 (not changing it) fixed my original installation. ALC889 working now. Thanks!! (glad to have my ssd version back!)

-the most recent try was using multibeast/DSDT and AppleHDA.kext is in S/L/E (2.3.7-toledaALC889) -the only entry in software is AppleHDAController (AppleHDA is not there) thx

10.8.2 running, stable but still no graphics -downloaded latest Mountain Lion and create UniBeast (with both -legacy USB 1155 and -laptop option. I could not boot the installer w/out legacy USB) -moved all NV* kext to a backup folder on the installer and added <key>Graphics Mode</key>...

-at the very least don't try to install the way I did...I had to NVIDIArecovery and then manually remove all of the NV* kexts to get the machine to boot again. -my install method was to right click on dmg...show contents and double click that installer. It ran fine and then gave me a kernel...
