    Question about Clover versions

I should have included that I was aware of the limitation on the Nvidia card, I would use the Intel iGPU to upgrade and then install an AMD card. The new build I mentioned will be using a Sapphire RX 6600, hence the minimum of Monterey. Thanks for clarifying the difference between what...

    Question about Clover versions

I am in the process of catching up on current methods of doing a hackintosh to upgrade my current one past High Sierra and also assemble a new one running Monterey. My current system has been stable and I have used it for several years, but need to upgrade for software reasons. A couple...

The app’s authorization has been revoked (High Sierra NVIDIA graphics certificates expired)

There is no official path to upgrade to a version of macOS later than High Sierra and keep a Nvidia video card active with the Web Drivers. With Mojave Apple removed the stub frameworks that the Web Drivers need to connect with, and Apple did not give Nvidia a developers license that could be...

The app’s authorization has been revoked (High Sierra NVIDIA graphics certificates expired)

The revoked Nvidia corporate certificates dated to 2015 and 2018 from other reports. Those reports also were that the certificates had been compromised and used to sign non-Nvidia files and apps. It is not clear at this point who pushed the revocation - Nvidia, Apple, or the Certificate...

The app’s authorization has been revoked (High Sierra NVIDIA graphics certificates expired)

I see no contradiction. Support and developers are often in separate operations. Someone in support had the tools to repackage an existing driver installer with a current Nvidia security certificate. The developers certificate from Apple for High Sierra and earlier never was revoked, they...

The app’s authorization has been revoked (High Sierra NVIDIA graphics certificates expired)

You need the WebDriver for video acceleration, install that. You only ned the cuda driver package if you are using software that utilizes CUDA for speeding up calculations. That is a small subset of software available for the macOS. I installed both on my system, so far have seen no problems...

Advice/direction for upgrading to newer AMD card from 980 Ti

The RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, and RX 6900 XT get support starting in Big Sur 11.4. The RX 6600 and RX 6600 XT are supported starting with Monterey 12.1. The RX 5000 series get supported as early as Catalina 10.15.1

The app’s authorization has been revoked (High Sierra NVIDIA graphics certificates expired)

There is a lot of software out there that uses CUDA or OpenCL and has not been updated to use Metal. So the lack of Metal support just isn't that big of a deal for many users.

Not seeing those prices coming down all that much yet, and the higher end Polaris cards are still going for over $400-500 used or new from many places. Used prices all got pushed up over the last year or so. Cheapest price on a RX 580 I came across looking a couple weeks ago was $499. I had...

The app’s authorization has been revoked (High Sierra NVIDIA graphics certificates expired)

Ugh, well this topic explains the problems I have run into getting my system back up after a bad battery in my UPS resulted in a sudden shutdown late last week. The drive was corrupted and had to reinstall the OS from scratch and the rest from my backups. System would hang during install of...

[Solved] GTX 1060 on Sierra 10.12.6 - not Loading nVidia Drivers

Thank you for your posts. They gave me some things to search on, and I now have the video drivers loading. Turned out that setting nvda_drv=1 resulted in a kernel panic on startup. What worked was just adding Bootloaders > Clover v2.4k r4173 UEFI Boot Mode + Emulated NVRAM and leaving the...

[Solved] GTX 1060 on Sierra 10.12.6 - not Loading nVidia Drivers

Are all of the solutions in Problem 6 to be used in addition to using the NvidiaWeb setting? Using the nvda_drv=1 setting appears to be contradictory to the directions for the new method: (fixed up the links in my first post)

[Solved] GTX 1060 on Sierra 10.12.6 - not Loading nVidia Drivers

Just completed my first hackintosh build after reading articles and posts on this site for a while. It is based on a Gigabyte GA270X-UD3 motherboard with an i7-7700K and a EVGA GTX1060 SSC 6 GB card. RAM is 16 GB of DDR4 and storage is on a 1 TB SSD. I installed 10.12.6 using the directions...
