Ok This is now working for me. I used an internal SATA drive and was able to boot successfully. Did not know about Update helper until the third time through a clean install! :(

I'm going to give that a go. I was just trying to cheap out on ordering an SATA internal drive. I just had one delivered ($25 is a small price to pay for my sanity) and will give it a shot tonight. I tried finding a guide on iBoot from a USB stick and didn't have any luck either.

Hi, This is my first attempt at installing SL onto a Hackintosh. I don't currently have a built in DVD-ROM drive. I'm using a USB Sony DVD-RW drive. I burnt the iBoot ISO image on a MacBookAir using the same drive. When I boot the system, it starts booting from the disc, I see some text...
