I used the Asus Strix RX 580 for months and had no problems. But with upcoming support for the 5700 and 5500 Radeons I would rather wait for one of these. Much better performance.
@xoyx CaseySJs setup is one of the smoothest running hackintoshes overall and is about as close as you can get to an original Mac with current hardware. Missing native nvram is not really a problem and does not impair usability. Nobody knows yet if Z490 will have working nvram or not.
@betyargabor Crucial RAM with 2400 MHz is okay and will work but with this system you can profit from higher speed. My recommendation would be 3200 or 3000 MHz if you can afford it. I use Corsair LPX 3200 MHz.
There is no „GIGABYTE Intel Z390 Express“ board. Please specify which Gigabyte-board you plan to use. If you want to save some money, you could also look for a Z370 Board that has native NVRAM. Do you need Thunderbolt for your audio-interface?
You have to move your EFI manually to your new M.2. Otherwise there is no bootloader on this drive and you can not select it as bootdrive in your BIOS.
@Mattioo Great to hear that it is working now. From my experience there is no need to have kexts like usbinjectall etc. in /Library/Extensions, just keep them in one place on your efi in kexts/other. Otherwise they might interfere with each other.
@Mattioo Remove drivers64UEFI-Folder, add EmuVariableUefi.efi to drivers/UEFI and remove shiki-settings from boot-arguments in config.plist. AppleALC and IntelMausi are missing in your kexts-folder.
