Following the posts/instructions here I've created an SSDT patch for GFX#0. I have confirmed that the patch is working by injecting a dummy device-id2.
I've added agdpmod=pikera to my boot args.
Whenever booting in verbose mode the system hangs at IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs...
Thanks for sharing @thechris.sn
I just now got around to upgrading my X1C to Monterey and using your configuration above made it super simple. I haven't really tested much yet except I am at the desktop and everything 'appears' to be working.
Thanks to the folks behind OpenIntelWireless I am...
Yikes, I may have just thrown away $15. Time will tell haha.
Sadly while hackintoshing is great my top priority must remain Windows, and the DW1560 + Windows never worked on my X1C G3.
@Khalid: I acquired a DW1820a and also ran into tremendous trouble trying to get it working in OSX.
It seems like there are multiple DW1820a card with varying subsystem ids.
Is your card a CN-08PKF4?
Everyone that I've asked who's card has worked well has the following part number...
I don't have my laptop with me at the moment. I followed Rehabmans notes here for Mojave.

The one thing that immediately sticks out to me is that you're using apfs.efi (which might be fine)...
Before Apr 2018 the official VoodooPS2Controller by Rehabman had little to no Thinkpad support at all. During those times individuals such as myself and @tluck created our own modified VoodooPS2Controller kexts specifically for our Thinkpad guides.
As of Apr 2018 I worked with Rehabman, Tluck...
I also upgraded Wednesday/Thursday this week. I had quite a bit of trouble because I installed Mojave from USB over my High Sierra installation (which upgraded perfectly, and I'm on APFS now) but that also left a lot of kexts in /L/E and /S/L/E that were meant for High Sierra (such as...
I'm sorry but I do not have a gen 2 in my possession, and creating a guide like this requires an insane amount of time. I think a large portion of the guide will work for you though... including a chunk of the dsdt patches. (Most are standard patches and very few are X1C specific.)
A few...
Following up to the following:
I installed the DW1560 (again) and tried about a dozen of drivers ranging from those provided in Windows 10 by automatic searching/install, dells website, and other locations -- I am convinced that there is nothing that I could do to make the card work on...
The Intel wireless cards will never work on Hackintoshes, you must order a Broadcom card. I ordered 2 Dw1560s and they worked fantastically on Mac but never worked on Windows (I tried dozens of drivers including the one Win10 installs by default).
The DW1830 works well on Windows and Mac for...
Overview
Welcome to my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon (Gen 3) detailed guide, this guide is based on macOS High Sierra. A significant portion of this guide including content, layout, and supporting files, kexts, ssdt patches, and more have been stolen from @Sniki so I want to give credit to him...
There are special SSDT edits that need to be made.. but they're the exact same as what was required in tlucks so you should already be good. (Or just follow this guide and look at Snikis SSDT-KBD.dsl when you get to that point)
Nothing challenging or tricky :)
Yes I did install the alc_fix included in the op of this thread.
@CoBrA2168: More importantly I'm saving myself from this headache 2-3 years down the line with my next Thinkpad :P
