Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD7-TH - Install Outline, Test: File Copy Results

I think you can change it with multi beast, but I was uncertain how to avoid changing anything else, so I just edit the text file where the information is stored. If you can edit a text file, you can fix it. First use a code editor (not MS Word or similar). For things like this Text Edit will...

Removing / Splitting up Fusion Drive: Question about backup

The approach you suggest should work. There are a couple of warnings that I would offer: 1. When you use one of the backup tools Super Duper or Carbon Copy Cloner, neither will copy the boot blocks, so you need to make sure that they are installed anew with Chameleon or copied from the drive...

    Gigabyte UD5H Fan Control

I have some frustration with the CPU fan of my GA-Z87X-UD7 TH It seems that the controller for the Z87X boards is not visible to anything but the Gigabyte Windows application. For me, at least, none of the fans ramp up even when the CPU becomes dangerously hot. I got nothing but doubletalk...

Z87X-UD5H CPU Fan speed in HWmonitor

I am also interested in this issue. I have talked to Gigabyte about it without getting any satisfaction other than "It works in our Windows app." Which is true for some definitions of 'works', it is a Windows app, after all. I have been unable to find any other tool under any OS (Mac, Windows...

Guide - Fusion Drive using tonymacx86 Tools & Chimera

Striping Fusion Drives Together for a Hackintosh I experimented with several ways to use my two SSDs and two HDDs together (happily, they were bought with someone else's money). I tried using the Gigabyte Jmicron raid support for SSD HDD caching and was underwhelmed. I tried striping the HDDs...

Guide - Fusion Drive using tonymacx86 Tools & Chimera

Current thinking is that adding the kernel-flags is unnecessary and actually causes issue with iMessage and other Apple applications. I left it out when I built last week, and everything worked without a hitch.
