If the display turn to very hot, that's mean should be the driver not right , because in the main desktop no gpu activity, so very hot is not normal. But i think u need to find out about your display card temp in normal on windows first.

After install lion in the first boot, have u choose USB boot up the lion partition?

Hi bro. I just brought an i5 2500s and Asrock z77m fatality. I'd got same problem as you, its also stuck in the white apple screen, but if I add a display card, it wont stuck in there, or after install remove the display card, and start to load after install , it also stuck in white apple screen.
