    [SUCCESS] Pro Audio/Gaming Build: GA-Z97X-UD7 TH / i7 4790k / 32GB / EVGA GTX 970

That's awesome wdogmx! Congrats on the rig. Glad I could provide a bit of encouragement. Wonderful that you got the PT native card, omni, firewire, and thunderbolt allworking reliably. I kind of wish I had gone with Clover too, but switching now would be way too much work. My next build will...

Hey Melodeath, unfortunately I have no thunderbolt devices as of yet. I bought the motherboard thinking I might get a thunderbolt interface, but I never did. I've ended up using this station almost purely for mixing, mastering, and av sync work (along with gaming on the windows side of course)...

Hi wdogmx, 1) The rig can be very quiet if I set it to be. The H440 is designed to be a quiet case and between the dampening foam and quiet case fans, its idle is very very soft. That said, if I game on it, it can get decently loud. But when running PT 11 sessions with video and a ton of tracks...

Hey Doug, I only have the two x16 cards and no additional devices to test out the third slot at the same time. Both GPUs are recognized by both OSX and Windows 7, though due to there being no SLI drivers for mac, I am only actually benefiting from one card in OSX (though as I said, both are...

Hey awrobinson95 - unfortunately I don't remember everything thoroughly enough to make an exact step-by-step. 1. My boot flags can be found on my original post. (no-zp -x -v nv_disable=1). Then when I added the second graphics card, I had to add dart=0 and enable Vt-D in bios. 2. I originally...

Hi David, Logic runs great. It's very stable and is fully functional. I use Logic 10. You can also see the Evan Logic Benchmark I did where I was able to get 139 tracks stable. I also use Komplete 9 Ultimate in Logic and I often will have sessions with a ton of recorded tracks, a ton of...

Unfortunately I do not know. The closest thing that happened to me is whenever I had a backup drive connected during boot, I had a panic. I ended up taking of the no-zp boot flag and that stopped happening. I have no idea why, but it did. Sorry I can't be more help. I haven't done any VM stuff...

Re: SoundForSoul117, I got 139 tracks going stable on this build. 256 Buffer 8 Processes (max) Medium Process Buffer Range And I'm not overclocking. I haven't really tried overclocking much in that I haven't needed more power for anything. Hope that helps!

Re: Buzo831, gaming is great on it. I've done Far Cry 3 and 4 both at highest settings and 1080p (my monitor's max res) and it's just beautiful. No hiccups, aliasing problems, or anything. That's about all the gaming I've tried on it (Civ 5 and such, but that doesn't really count for...

    Boot Flag -no-zp

""-no-zp" means that zone poisoning is disabled (grep /var/log/system.log for: Zone poisoning disabled) In short. Some process (code) is allocating memory, some time later it freed the allocated memory but then some (other) process writes to the freed memory. Which shouldn't happen of course."...

Thanks for the boot.plist settings spballer! I'll check that out later this week once I can afford to have my machine down for a bit if something goes wrong.

I actually don't have any thunderbolt devices, so I have no way of testing yet. I will let you know as soon as I do get a thunderbolt device to test.

Yeah, once the web drivers are installed, there's no need for that boot flag anymore. The kernel flags that I have still (via MultiBeast setting them) are: kext-dev-mode=1 nvda_drv=1 -no-zp As for the slow boot time, it is definitely still slow at booting. I've not really come across anything...
