I have an error message that says my time/date is from before 2008 which may affect some applications. My computer thinks it is dec 31 1969. I have gone into terminal to sudo changedate but that only fixed it until I restarted.

Thats the strange thing. I don't think I did. I wasn't rushing through the processes because like I said before, I'm not in my element here. So I tend to take thing slow and double check.
But either way. You solved another problem for me and I thank you.

I am also having trouble with my 4530s not recognizing the built in soundcard. It recognizes my airplay but that is the only output. And I have 0 input options.
I have tried deleting the extra.dsdt and reinstalling from probookinstaller 6.1.9. With no success.

Wow that is actually quite strange. Just after reading your reply this time I booted up the 4530s, not having changed a single setting this time around, and Boom! it starts working. Can I assume you are a magician RehabMan?

Yes fine the dsdt patch. Sorry. I am used both the probook 6.1.9 and 6.1.8
Can you explain how to do those things you asked for? I downloaded the ioregexplorer but dont know exactly what you want. Like I had said earlier I am not as versed in coding or whatever you want to call it. Sorry
So I upgraded following the stickies steps. I then ran the probook installer according to the sticky. Under the wifi menu it said "No hardware installed"
I restarted, ran probook again choosing just the Atheros kext. Restarted again, No hardware installed.
Re-installed Maverick. Used the Atheros...
Is it possible to just upgrade from mtn lion to maverick without having to do a clean install?
