I really hope others with more expertise than me chime in soon. But perhaps something will jump out and lead you to the right file..
Only things I can think of:
see my file below
-I didn't change the definition block, yours looks a bit different, perhaps a different template.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Holy Cow Hey Caleb :D So funny running to you here..
This may be a case of the blind leading the blind, but I used this guide to get my SSDT running (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-creating-a-custom-ssdt-for-usbinjectall-kext.211311/)
On that page you can find this url linked...
thanks for the tip. I removed the 2 items you mentioned and rebooted. Verified the changes after reboot, and see there I still only have 1 GPU monitor when using the activity monitor as you described. This is probably why I'm still not seeing a gain from the iGPU. I'm stumped, I really...
thanks again, one step closer. Here's what I've done:
Unchecked X86Platformplugin in clover
Installed kexts to L/E using the guide you wrote (left old ones in Clover/kexts/other though)
interestingly with the kexts only in Clover/... and system parameters set to detect, i had no...
Hi Jay, thanks again. I have attached my PPRF report. I am not certain if the SSDT aml patch is working or the GFX rename is or is not enabled. I have the dGPU in the normal DGPU slot so that should be fine.
Maybe something is obvious to you in the report:
Hey Jay, I'm back at trying to get my Dual GPU running smoothly with Quicktime and H264 playback etc.
Here's what I've done since last time:
-changed to 17,1 SMBIOS definition. rebooted, logged back into icloud, everything seems working as before
- added that SSDT-XCPM.aml patch to the folder...
My bad. yes i meant to attach an image. Here we go. I played a short h264 exported clip until the iGPU freq. flatlines. The only way i can peg it around 1.x is to scrub a timeline h264 in fcpx for example. My machine shows as a 2013 iMac. 14,2 definition. I was trying to avoid changing it to...
hm, interesting. So here is my Power Gadget for the duration of me playing the H264 clip (which i exported out of FCPX) playing. The red underline is where i played it then paused it. Do you mean that the CPU Core frequency should be pegged or the iGPU frequency? Why is this the case?
No worries. Hey so my export time went down for H264 heavy clips to a level that i would expect. I just noticed today however that Quicktime playback on H264 got a little choppy. VLC plays the clip fine but doesn't use iGPU (based on intel widget). Any idea how i can get quicktime playback...
Thanks so much for writing up this guide. I know its a PITA and it takes a ton of time, but this is EXACTLY what i needed. I spent hours going through other threads where there was so much conflicting info, and no-one seemed to have my exact setup.
I followed your guide and got my...
Florian, sorry for writing here but i cant PM you (to little post count)
Is there a difference in Performance between a sapphire r9-280x 11221-20 running with default framebuffer, and one that is more like reference with 2 DP 11221-01 for example running with Hamachi? i couldnt find this answer...
