Well I was just about to pull the trigger and move from my setup to yours....<I'm giving mine to my son> but now I think I am going to wait until you do your new build, so I could follow it from beginning to end.
Obviously, I will continue to follow this one, as there is a plethora of...
@artooks, I followed @CaseySJ's thread and still do closely. If you scroll down to his Final Steps you will see what his folder looks like. I don't believe I used all of his kexts however, you can do a search on our conversations in his thread, and it should answer a lot of your questions. I am...
@Radialer, I'm glad that worked for you. I do have a question on your hardware. I'm thinking of replacing my Sapphire RX580 card, with either a Vega 56 or Vega 64, can you tell me the differences and the make and model that you are using? Also, just out of curiosity what cooler are you using for...
I'm not home right now but you should take a look at the OPs EFI and compare it to yours if you haven't done so already. You should also post your config.plist and your EFI too. Maybe someone with more experience can take a quick look and see what's going on.
Good Luck.
@mmaira,
So, I am glad you've gotten this far and sorry to hear about your present problem with the Fenti. This is the card that I am using that worked straight away, with PCIe x1 adapter:
Broadcom WiFi and Bluetooth Module -- BCM94360CS2...
@CaseySJ, now that I have my Hack all setup, looks like I'm giving it to my son when he moves back up north. I'll be replacing his CPU with an i7. I am 100 percent certain, I am getting your mobo....and a few other things off your list....lol At least I can say though, because of your guide, I...
@mmaira That looks awesome, great job! I do have to mention though, the Fenvi card you are going to get is going to be ridiculously close to the RX 580 fans. I have this problem with my WiFi/Bluetooth card. All I could do was adjust the screws when I inserted the cards. I know that's hard to...
@archalys, I think that Samsung NVMe your using is in this Note on the OP
NOTE 4: XFX Radeon RX 580 graphics cards are known to cause kernel panics during installation, and are strongly discouraged. Use a different brand. In my case, the MSI RX 580 Gaming X works flawlessly. Also avoid the...
@mmaira I'm glad it worked for you and it's awesome that you were able to get the Titan Ridge to work for you without having to install Windows, sadly that wasn't the case for me.
Regarding the RX580 being in my PCI, I have attached the file I used for you. I got it from @CaseySJ's thread, also...
I totally agree, right now my system is running like butter, with the exception of my mouse running laggy when I have my second monitor plugged in I'm beyond happy.
@elfcake thank you, the only reason I was asking about keeping the Windows drive, is because I read in @CaseySJ thread that if you do a complete power down, ie removing the power cord, you have to go back to Windows to reactivate the Ridge Card, I could be wrong though. Thoughts?
@joanareis here is my Thunderbolt install.
Installing GC-Titan Ridge
I installed the Titan Ridge in the last slot (PCIEX4). I removed my NVMe SSD, and installed Windows on a spare SSD that I had. The rest are the steps I used to get it running;
Booted into Windows, (let it do it's updates)...
@CaseySJ Thank you so much it's showing up where it's supposed to! (Please See Attachments)
My system seems golden now. If I can ask a few questions here, or if I need to ask them in your thread please let me know.
Does leaving the Windows SSD attached disrupt anything, other than putting...
