[SUCCESS] Hasswell Refresh Z97X build: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming GT ATX - i7-4790K - MSI GeForce GTX 7

Hey guys, On the audio front: try shutting down the computer entirely (use the power supply switch) and then boot directly into OS X. On my machine, if I boot into Windows and then restart (software restart) into OSX the audio doesn't work. If I fully shut down, then boot into OSX it works...

Glitchy boot screen, is this normal?

Mine does a bit of a similar thing. On boot, the progress bar gets about 1/3 complete, then screen goes black, progress bar shows up in the corner, then login screen shows up, totally normal. Hasn't caused me any problems.

Very strange Kernel panic on formerly perfectly running machine

Switched over to second BIOS and installed with zero issues. Must be related to BIOS? Very curious, as I flashed over the BIOS from stock and still had issues.

Can't Install Yosemite - No Matter What I Do - Please Assist

Hey vio1, I was having the same problem last week: couldn't install Yosemite on my box. But this was a machine that had already been running Yosemite for a couple months, rock solid. So, I'm not sure if its an issue with the current version of OSX, or maybe something in Unibeast? I downloaded...

Very strange Kernel panic on formerly perfectly running machine

Removed all hardware and was able to get OS X to install over the old install once I'd repartitioned the drive. But still not able to boot OS X and even installing is pretty hit or miss. Le sigh. Backing off from this for awhile and will revisit when less frustrated.

Very strange Kernel panic on formerly perfectly running machine

Thanks for the replies Pilgrim and Twitch. I did try removing the wireless adaptor and it still hung on boot for both OSX boot drive and USB install. I also tried disconnecting power for a bit to no avail. Tonight I'm going to try disconnecting the OSX drive and see if that allows me to boot...

Very strange Kernel panic on formerly perfectly running machine

Tried each stick of RAM individually with no effect. Not sure what's going on. Nothing has changed in the config of either software or hardware. Just quit booting. :banghead:

Very strange Kernel panic on formerly perfectly running machine

Hey all, I'm getting a strange panic when booting up my machine into OS X. This machine has been solid for months now, with no issues. I can boot into SafeMode (-s flag), but not into normal boot at all, with any flags. I get the following panic: Looks like fsck is failing and causing the...

No Sound - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Hey Khaibit, Thanks for you post! I was having the same problem and turning off the machine fully and rebooting into OS X worked. Previously I had audio working fine, but looks like a boot into Windows 8.1 and the a quick reboot into OS X will kill the audio on the back port. (It does produce...

I'm thinking of using the z97 GT board for my first Hackintosh, too. Let us know how it goes once you get it! I'd love to hear whether you get it working or not. Cheers, Sean
