Very old thread, but for anyone else's future reference... this happened to me, but it was caused by the fact that the OSX installation image was still being downloaded from the Apple store (but still showed up as an option in Unibeast). Once the download was completed, I was able to select it...
Thanks for the quick reply. I will try to the installation using a blank/spare hard disk to get a sense for it. Then maybe experiment with the old drive. Probably not a lot on there that my 9 year can't live without, though she may not see it that way.
Will El Cap deploy on the old bios, or...
Well, 3+ years in and my Hackintosh just bit the bucket last week. The power supply died and when I replaced it, the BIOS was corrupted and automatically reloaded from an onboard backup copy which apparently was not an accurate backup, since it will no longer boot. I would prefer not to buy...
Thanks, great advice of course. I just did with a full backup with Carbon Copy Cloner. Still need to figure out how to make it restorable. Seems like an extra step is needed for a Hackintosh from what I read.
Also set up Time Machine which is rather slick.
Thanks,
Jay
I'm still on Snow Leopard, so not thinking I have launchpad. New to OSX in general. But I have read that Front Row functionality is highly dependent on QE/CI and it works fine for me...

I sort of fell off the radar there for a couple weeks between work and family things. Just getting back into the fun. Actually I am not certain that QE/CI is enabled and if it is, I did not do anything in specific other than use the tools as mentioned... I'll check if I can figure out how....
Re: Stork's Sandy Bridge Z68X-UD3H - i7-2600K - HD3000 - Lion
Interesting... I just popped my old 19" VGA monitor into the 8400GS and it works perfectly fine as a second monitor at full resolution... I am now dual screen! Was not expecting that to work...
Thanks for the help Jester. I ended up buying a low cost 8400GS graphics card. Dropped it in and immediately I was able to boot from HDD and get into the Apple Store. This morning I was able to get the nvidia driver loaded and am running high res. Yeah!
Now to enjoy the Mac for a while...
Yeah, Success! Running full resolution on my 8400GS. Ended up editing an info.plist to add the details of this card (may or may not have been needed) and then upgrading the nvidia driver (which could only be done via booting from iBoot). First time I have had OSX in 1080p. Sweet!

Success! Edited the plist with my card details and was able to figure out how to get the nvidia driver loaded. Had to boot from iBoot to be able to load the nvidia driver. When I rebooted it went straight into high def display mode. Sweet!
You are definitely further along than I am. Could you please point me in the right direction? I am running 10.6.8 and have an EVGA 8400GS 1GB card but I cannot get to higher resolutions. A big part of my problem is simply understanding how to manage within OSX. Not sure how to deploy a new...
I've got a nice 10.6.8 installation with everything working but the graphics. I've been searching and reading the forum and find plenty of discussions regarding my EVGA 8400GS, but the approaches recommended are not always the same and frankly I am actually very to new to both the Mac and...
