When I use FCP X, I can't see the extra card being used. If you want real power, get a Mac Pro. It is also a lot less hassle with app and OS X updates.
Kind regards

I would start by installing Windows on a drive, and see if the Windows drivers for the motherboard, can get some live into your ethernet port.
If that works ok, then I would start all over again with the OS X install. I used the this guide as it is, and that worked for me. You might have...
My machine can boot in OS X with dual Gigabyte GTX 770 OC cards with SLI cable installed. But OS X do not use the second card. It just sit's there.
In Windows 7, the nVidia Experience (app + driver package) use both cards in SLI configuration.
That was how I hoped it would be, so I am...
It is normal to have different performance on different OS and different drivers. I have attached a picture of what I get with my 3930K at 4.2GHz. The picture shows OS X 10.9.2, 10.9.3, 10.9.4 and Windows 7, 64bit. In Windows, my two graphics card works in SLI-mode via normal nVidia drivers...
Good humor! ;-) I am happy that I had no problems! :-)
I used UniBeast 3.0.1, Multibeast 6.2.1 and went directly to OS X 10.9.2. My GA-X79-UP4 runs un BIOS number F4.
As far as I remember, I did not change anything in the BIOS, beside the CPU multiplier from 3.2 to 4.2.
So USB3 ports are...
Thanks a lot for your guide!
It worked right away for me. I even started out with an over clocked cpu at 4.2GHz and had no problems with it. OS X even see's the CPU speed. It doesn't see the CPU type though.
I kept the SLI cable on. It works fine (for now) on my installation.
Then I...
Thanks a lot Neil :-) Great guide!
It almost works for me. I Can't log into iCloud on my raid 0 boot set. It works fine, when I go back to just 1 boot drive.
Do you have any clue to why this happens?
Kind regards
Gert
I updated my installation of Mountain Lion with a Mavericks 10.9.2 unibeast usb-pen. So you might not call it updating, but in reality it was. All my app's, my settings and so on, were as before. Only the desktop picture has changed ;-)
Network and sound didn't work, but then I ran...
Well. I think I know how you are feeling ;-)
If you don't mind my suggestion, I think you should go ahead and use the computer you have now and get some of your video done. Instead of wasting time and energy, thinking about wich solution would be the best, fastest, most stabel, most...
