That makes sense. I'd assume that if the manual itself says to plug all 3 in it's not prone to being overloaded, and if it does I can get it replaced. Either way I'm gonna follow the manual's suggestions before overclocking it.

Take a look at the screenshot just above that request. That's a screenshot of the 3-1 4x2 8 pin adapter. The mobo's manual says to plug that into the mobo & then plug 3 4x2 8 pin cables into it, in order for it to draw more power for over-clocking. That's the intended use case, not anything...
