    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

Frankly, I have given up on this topic, it may be simply unsolvable. I mean if even guys like Madl0n or Stinga have no idea how to fix this, who would? Of course if anyone knows a fix, he/she would be my hero!

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

Well, maybe I am just stupid but i cannot find any "advanced mode" in neither ioreg or the windows device manager. So yeah, a screen would be nice! But even if you are right, why are also boards affected that do not have the ASM10142 controller? Aynways, so if you can fix this, you are truly my...

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

For me, wake behavior has not really changed with 10.13.4

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

Btw: as I see it the Lenovo D30 does not contain any ASM chips at all, correct? So that would also support my assertion that it has nothing todo with ASM1042. Plus, I also do not see any traces of such device in ioReg (if disabled via BIOS).

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

Well, I just did that, and I see no trace of the ASM chip in the device manager, at least not under the USB section. Where do you see that?

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

ASM1042 is known to be not working properly since at least 10.11 ... So, forget about it! I have completely disabled it a long while ago and achieved USB3 funcionality with a FL1100 based PCI card (same chip as in the mac pro 6,1). Also I have tried booting with only the X79 USB2 ports active...

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

Joe, I can post my clover folder here, but frankly, I do not think it has anything to do with 3rd party kexts. I have tried a LOT of things, including disconnecting any PCI hardware, resetting CMOS, using different BIOS and whatnot. As you seem to have such a system yourself, why not try with...

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

So did I! Yeah, problem is specific to HS.

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

Yeah, indeed. It seems this might not be fixable by us at all (only Apple). On the other hand we have this guy who claims working sleep (see post by orgixmh), but I have no idea if those claims are true, and if yes, why it actually works for him.

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

Hmm, how do you know it works perfectly, does he state that? (I do not understand chinese).

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

Yeah it seems it is not specific to some BIOS vendor, but more like dependant on certain chipsets and / or their CPUs. Since your machine seems to be C602 based, (and you are using a Sandy Bridge based CPU) it is not a big surprise - is my assumption is true - that you seem to be affected as well.

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

Yeah, seems that the OS / kernel is not even aware of any wake, seems like the machine is stuck at some earlier point. So maybe the problem is not how the machine wakes, but the way it is put into sleep? I mean something must be different, since wake works on the same machine with earlier macOS...

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

Yes I tested with 801 and the older 701. I even did a CMOS reset atone time. Are you sure it is because of CPU initialisation? At least this would narrow down possible causes a LOT. My C-States are all enabled as well. But I recall testing limited states (at least the default which has...

    High Sierra wake problem (x79)

Ah, understand. So yeah this is apparently exactly the same behavior - and probably the same reason for this behavior - as in my case. Now, we need a solution ;)

    i7-4930K - Asus Rampage IV Extreme - 32GB RAM - GTX 770 4GB [Success!!]

Think it is quite hard to configure a hackintosh so it works absolutely 100% perfect. So, on some configs, I guess you have to live with some smaller issues. But since a lot of people seem to have sleep / wake problems starting with 10.13 it would be nice if there was a fix, esp. since it...
