thanks for your help but unfortunately that doesn't seem to have solved anything.

I have a gtx 960 4gb edition and whenever I try to download final cut pro it tells me my current graphics configuration isn't good enough. I have installed nvidia web drivers but I have to boot with nv_disable=1 otherwise I get a black screen. thanks for all your help
