OMG, I'm here just to thank you for that amazing guide. Our Vaio Fit 15E is a great piece of hardware. I've just upgrade mine to a SSD and it feels like a brand new machine. I'm planning now to do a CPU upgrade, it seems that's possible.

I have a Sony Vaio Fit15E running macOS 10.12.5 with almost everything working. The only problem is that, when it wakes up from sleep (hibernatemode 3), the screen's backlight doesn't light up. In order to make it work, I have to close and open the lid one more time. After that...
Wow, this solved another problem for me.
My laptop sleeps just fine, but when it wakes up, the display's backlight wasn't waking up too, the screen was completely dark, but I was able see the login screen with some indirect light, like iPhone's flashlight. Brightness slider was also failing...

It worked perfectly on my Vaio Fit 15e with HD 4000, the brightness slider finally showed up on System Preferences.
Now I'll try to make Fn+F5 and F6 keys control the brightness.
