    Thanks for the link and all your work here rehabman, i fixed the backlight (stray intelbacklight.kext was left in the clover kexts folder *facepalm*). Is there a way to troubleshoot sleep issues? is there a log on os x that might guide me to the culprit?

    do these nvram settings have any effect outside of osx? i mean if set incorrectly could they lead to problems with other windows or linux?

    I never finished installing osx so this is all happening on windows 10 and ubuntu. the fan simply gave out, i'm in contact with gearbest where i got it to handle this under warrenty.

    hi, thx for the quick reply. the problem is consistent under windows 10 and linux (ubuntu) also the fan makes a little chirping noise every time i boot up so i'm pretty sure this is a hardware defect :-(

    It might, the wwan slot is b key, if the card is b/m key it would fit i think, and might work, theoretically. at 50 bucks its an expensive gamble, although you can always return the card, if it doesn't fit... anyone care to try?
