PC users who switched from Mac. Any regrets?

As a full stack developer I still find MacOS to be the best compromise as I can run most frameworks and technologies born on Linux alongside programs like Photoshop / Sketch, plus I really like the polish and UI; that said Windows 10 is evolving quite nicely, if they keep on improving the Linux...

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

After the BIOS update sleep seems to be working with my usual user, not sure if it's a coincidence but glad it is working. @blazinsmokey @mazakiss , how many seconds does your XPS 9560 take to get to sleep? Mine takes around 8 seconds, I remember it was faster in High Sierra but to be honest I...

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

So, I created a new user to try sleeping without any additional software and poof, when logged in with the new user sleep works fine o_O; still not working with my standard user, time to dig into third party software to identify the bugger. I am now running with the same configuration as the...

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

I worked all day long on it without any issue, unfortunately still not capable of putting it to sleep. An interesting thing is that when I try to put it to sleep using the menu -> Sleep, most services are suspended and the screen goes blank, however the keyboard stays lit even after minutes; in...

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

@blazinsmokey is your XPS sleeping correctly? I hadn't tested that before but right now it simply turns off the screen, I'm wondering if it is related to Filevault or the changes in Bluetooth injection; if it is still working on your machine I will try to investigate tomorrow.

[Guide] Dell XPS 9560 Mojave VirtualSMC, I2C Trackpad, Clover UEFI Hotpatch

The update to .1 from System Preferences went fine; FWIW, the XPS was rebooted twice through the Install prebooter during the upgrade installation without requiring a password to unlock the system volume as expected. I wonder where the key is stored on a hackintosh during this process, if I...

[Guide] Filevault2 on Dell XPS 9550

Works on my Dell XPS 9560 FHD as well, thanks a lot to everybody involved. Not related to "AppleKeyFeeder" in particular, but on my XPS 9560 I also had to make sure that all the legacy booting options were disabled in the BIOS otherwise the machine would freeze after entering the password even...
