    Sierra on GA-H170M-D3H checklist

After this initial post, I decided to install Clover directly without UniBeast. If you understand French (as your component list suggests), you can see the settings at http://forum.macbidouille.com/index.php?showtopic=399712 Try all different options in the Sound System Preferences. The...

    Sierra on GA-H170M-D3H checklist

This is my first build. I purchased the following components, expected to come in next week. I created a boot Flash drive with UniBeast, and searched the forums for the best MultiBeast settings for my setup. I'd appreciate feedback on those settings and anything else I may have overlooked...

What's the difference between all the EVGA GeForce GTX 950 models?

Newbie question here. I'm looking for a EVGA GeForce GTX 950 for a new build and find many options. Different card lengths, clock speeds, ports. My main question is are all variations compatible with a hackintosh, and are some easier to set up than others?

    Quiet mATX build

Confirmed. The RAM will run at 2133MHz and is compatible. And if I have to move the RAM to another system, I'm better off with the faster modules.

    Quiet mATX build

Good catch. I was looking at GA-H170M-D3H but copied the wrong number. Since that board only runs memory at 2133, I thought I could save some $ there. But it looks like 2133 and 2400 prices are identical. Any issues with using the faster memory?

    Quiet mATX build

Thank you all. I had seen that case before but could not find it again. So thanks for the link. It also allows me to build in a cheap optical drive (for the few times it's needed) and SD card reader. So here's my revised list, based in great part on your suggestions. case — Aerocool DS Cube...

    Quiet mATX build

Two votes in favor of Noctua swayed me. By stable, I mean unlikely to crash, but also unlikely to break with OS updates. So I'd rather build a tried-and-true configuration than some of the more experimental builds I've seen here. I'm unlikely to overclock. I have not found any non-K CPU variant...

    Quiet mATX build

Thanks. I must have mixed some of my notes. I'll continue my research with your suggestions in mind. Meanwhile, I would really appreciate suggestions for a good, compact, quiet case.

    Quiet mATX build

I'm looking for a replacement for a dying Mac Mini and can't bring myself to spending a lot for 2 year-old technology that's not upgradable. Requirements (in order of importance): stable, quiet, stylish, compact, fast, affordable. Budget: $1500 I'm leaning towards a microATX build. The...
