I'm running the USDT version with an i7-3770s, 8GB of ram and a 320GB HDD. Also on v3.04 BIOS. If you find a solution please let me know. I would love to be able to reboot while I am out of the house if I needed too.

Shut down the computer and unplug the 4TB drive. Remove the 4-port hub, and connect the 2TB drive. See if the computer will boot up normally. I have a 1TB WD drive for Time Machine back ups and a 8TB WD Easystore. If I try to boot the computer with the 8TB drive hooked up it will stop at the HP...

I wonder if this has to do with the resolution of your display. Maybe if you're hooked up to a display that has a higher resolution then 1080. My setup is connected to a 1080p TV with a DP to HDMI adapter. I have legacy support disabled and the HD4000 graphics is working fine here.
I'll try it after a while. I borked my computer so I'm doing a fresh install later today. This is my first hackentosh and went balls to the wall playing with stuff. Thankfully I got this to play around with so nothing is lost other then my time.
I have an HP 8300 USDT w/ i7-3770s with high Sierra. It boots up and runs just fine until I plug in my 8TB Easystore. If I plug it in after its up and running everything is fine. If I plug it in and then turn it on it will not go past the HP splash screen. Google hasn't returned anything to fix...
