Issue with video card...computer won't boot with it...

Have you ever been able to use this card in a different machine, or it new OOTB? At the risk of stating the obvious, you could just have a bad card.

SuperIOFamily kext - unsupported device ID=0x8772

Re: SuperIOFamily kext Update: I have downloaded the repository for this project and am attempting to compile the kext myself with support for 0x8772 added in. Will update once completed and tested. No dice. It wants Xcode 3.1 and I'm not reconfiguring the entire project just so I can see a...

SuperIOFamily kext - unsupported device ID=0x8772

If anyone has a pipeline to the developers of this kext, my build is finding an unsupported chip under the ID87x.kext plugin for SuperIOFamily, specifically ID=0x8772. Is there any way to get this chip added to the kext? I currently have CPU temp, but no fan monitoring on a Dell XPS 8300 i7-2600

I appreciate the reply. Those are PCI cards though. I only have PCI-E 1 lane slots available.

Try this for video (NO guarantees, backup just in case):

P67A-UD4-B3 Ethernet works unti DSDT install

Try using the installer first. It will remove any conflicting kexts and that often avoids problems. Otherwise, in MultiBeast 4.1.0, select Drivers & Bootloaders > Kexts & Enablers > Network > Lnx2Mac's ... (which will just launch the same installer that I directed you to)

How can i uninstall the sound driver?

Assuming the system is running: Open a Terminal window sudo kextunload [kextname] (replace [kextname] with the actual name of the kext) enter If it's panicing, boot from the USB thumb drive. Open a Terminal window from the installer, and: cd /Volumes/[Volume Name]/System/Library/Extensions...

    OOB Network Cards

Can anyone recommend a (wired) gigabit network chipset or preferably a PCI-E network adapter that works with 10.7.2 OOB? I'm about at the end of my rope with the onboard BCM 57788. It just doesn't work right using BCM5722D.kext

    Three errors, unable to boot

Sorry. I'm trying to do multiple things and goofed. The file you are looking for is /System/Library/Extensions.mkext so: cd /Volumes/[Volume Name]/System/Library ls See if there is a file in that directory called extensions If so, rm -r extensions.mkext reboot

    Three errors, unable to boot

You're welcome. If you can't remember the names of the kexts, type ls (ell ess) and hit enter. It'll list everything in the directory.

    Three errors, unable to boot

Yup. Boot from your thumb drive and open terminal (Utilities > Terminal) in order: cd /Volumes/[Volume Name]/System/Library/Extensions (replace Volume Name with the name of your system drive) rm -r [Kext name] cd .. (type the periods ...) rm Extensions.mkext* reboot
