Just one idea after watching your video - does your motherboard have a 4 pin connector near the CPU? If so, you need to connect the 4 pin cable from your PSU to it - it's usually has two black and two yellow wires. Good luck!

Great message thread... I built one as well. I ordered the IR receiver (part number 922-7195 - originally for a Macbook Pro) and spliced on a USB A end, using a four pin connector pair. Works very well with Plex - even wake via IR is all good!

Hey, Looks like a solid build. As far as the optical drive goes, I've had good luck with the Sony Opticarc SATA drives. I've seen other references to them in the forum as well. As long as you've got a Gigabyte motherboard and the ATI 5770 GPU (or nVidia 8400 or 9800) you're pretty much set...

Hey, I've built a couple of really low end machines using the nVidia 8400 GPU, and had good luck. One worked perfectly out of the box, the other took just a little bit of hacking to add the device ID to the appropriate kext file. Good luck!
