    As was a problem before (I don't remember how I fixed this way back), the USB 3 ports near the usb 2 ports work fine for me, the set at the other end do not. I had these working prior to the upgrade but I don't remember what (if anything) I did to make them work.

    Same here. Have verified the boot plist does not have the kernel reference on the USB stick, my upgraded maverick to yosemite SSD and a freshly installed HD and all have the same issue.
