Huge thanks Toleda! I upgraded from Yosemite to Sierra and everything went well (after disabling SIP) but had no sound device on my ALC898 :( Native AppleHDA -> Inject 2 -> Audio_CloverALC did the trick! Everything works fine now :) Thanks again!

(FYI, I have a generic Palit 980 and it works perfectly)...

Hi, just wonderig how did the swap go for you? I did the same with a 770- 980 swap but then I couldn't boot into MacOs, i just had the black screen with the cursor, so I put my 770 back... gonna try installing the drivers first then swap again...

This freezing issue was driving me crazy... I was about to trash my ProBook one time... I was really disappointed in Mavericks, and the only solution for me was to go back to Mountain Lion... Until I find no confirmation that this issue is fixed, I don`t think it`s a good idea to use Mavericks...
