New Build with around £1500 budget - Open to Critique

Really appreciate the explanation here so much. Took your advice along with UtterDisbelief and trs96 - modified the component list for an LGA1200 socket build above. Think it is looking ok now, though I'm currently wondering if the Aorus Master would be a safer option for stability compared to...

New Build with around £1500 budget - Open to Critique

Thank you so much for the precious feedback. I've taken in all your advice and reviewed much of the information in the golden builds and user builds plus recommendations for compatibility. Finding some of the suggested components to exactly match has been quite hard due to a lot of them now...

New Build with around £1500 budget - Open to Critique

Just refreshed, for some reason the full reply didn't populate first time :) Ok great, I see what you mean. So it would probably be a safer bet to stick with the Z690 as per the golden build?

New Build with around £1500 budget - Open to Critique

Ahh, would it be clearer if I edited the component list from the initial post? The updated list included the ASUS ProArt Z790 Motherboard which is DDR5 compatible

Hi mate, Great points and completely understand where you are coming from. I didn't make it completely clear but I plan to due boot the machine in Windows as well for those other programs. New Build with around £1500 budget - Open to Critique

Some great points, thank you! I'm not overly precious about the motherboard, just looked like a great deal as it was on quite a discount. Appreciate what your saying about it being harder to get working. If I flipped out the motherboard to something else, does the PSU and Memory make sense or...

New Build with around £1500 budget - Open to Critique

Hi guys, I'm based in the UK and I am currently putting together a new build and trying to get the best spec I can for around £1500/800 so it will have some legs to last a few years and be able to stay up to date for as long as possible. The machine won't be used for gaming but high-end audio...

    Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 + Big Sur + Intel Core i7 6700K + Open Core 0.8.0 (Help Needed)

I'm very glad too and it is of huge thanks to you. That's really interesting regarding your thoughts on the sound card and USB issues. I think I understand what you are referring to and will look into it to see if I can work out what might be missing or what needs to be added. If you do have...

Hi mate, Apologies for the delay coming back to you, I had a family emergency I had to attend to and have been out of action for a while. Anyway, back at it now and got a chance to do this. I just wanted to update you that I continued to build a test EFI off your recommendation above and got...

Hi mate, I took a look over your post with your build for Z170 Skylake, not sure if I'm missing something but the 'EFI 11.4 OC 0.6.5 Nvidia' and 'EFI 11.4 OC 0.6.5' seem to be the same? Was keen to see the differences in the build I have using the Radeon Rx 570. Let me know if I'm missing...

Hi mate, thanks for coming back to me. Re the USB installer drive being formatted using HFS+ and GUID partitioning Pretty sure it is but I've attached screenshots from Disk Utility in case I'm missing something. Also included a screenshot of the mounted EFI partition.
